Division of Condensed Matter Physics
Head of Division: Ola Hunderi
The research deals with material science:
- Surface physics
Studies of the physics of surfaces and interfaces by STM, electron spectroscopic and optical techniques.
- Electron microscopy
Macroscopic properties of materials are determined by the structure down to micrometer and atomic scale. An aim is to understand and establish these relationships, so making it possible to tailor materials properties.
- Polymer and molecular organic semiconductors
Studies of materials that can be applied in polymer electronics, flexible screens, displays and even as lasers.
- Magnetoresistance of nanostructures
Studies of the fundamental mechanisms of magnetoresistivity at the nanometer scale and the dependence on the choice of material.
- Textbooks and popular science
